The second measurement campaign in METECH has been carried out by Tampere University in collaboration with researchers from Lund University. The campaign investigated the evolution of aircraft emissions and the formation of fine particles in close proximity of an individual aircraft, involving researchers from multiple different disciplines. The first measurement campaign in METECH was completed in early May. During the campaign, the SO2 trace-level measurement method that was developed during the project was successfully tested. The measurements took place at Wärtsilä’s Sustainable Technology Hub in Vaasa, where VTT and FMI did online measurements with trace level SO2 analyzer and Gasmet’s FTIR. METECH held its first steering group meeting on 13.02.2026. With most of the partners and a representative from Business Finland in attendance, the kick-off of the project began with introductions from each partner. Afterwards organizational matters including the consortium agreement and the duties of the steering group were discussed. The contents of the work packages were also presented by the WP leaders.
